For this closing keynote presentation at the NOFA-NY winter meeting in February 2004, I was asked by the organizers to both synopsize the take-home message form three days of meetings about a program called the Public Seed Initiative and to offer a little inspirational lift to the participants. At the moment the You Tube seems to have been taken down by the gentleman that recorded it, but it may still come up in a web search. In a pinch you can email me and I can send a DVD copy.
Note: Knowledgeable listeners will notice a minor mischaracterization (later corrected) in the first discussion of phenotype vs genotype...not too surprising for an extemporaneous presentation on such a technical topic! (That is, in fact, one of the great features of iterative presentation -- that you can fine tune the discussion of a topic as you work it over...)
