Equipment For Sale

The Farm Service Agency just sent around a notice that some specialized vegetable processing equipment will be auctioned off in Summersville WV.  Here is the notice:

 Good Morning:
 
I am hoping you all can pass the word on about some specialized vegetable equipment that Farm Service Agency will offer for auction on May 27 near Summersville. The equipment is used for grading, washing,and sorting tomatoes. There is also other equipment that local
vegetable growers might be interested in such as plastic mulch layer, a transplanter, 4x4 tractor and tillage equipment. Please pass the information on to any of your local producers you think might be interested.  If they are interested and cannot attend the sale, they can contact the auctioneer and make arrangements for him to place a bid for them.
 
I have attached photos of all equipment being sold along with a sale flyer with contact information.

Vegetable Equipment For Sale

This arrived yesterday from the Planck's over in Lovettsville, VA, who are retiring after decades of running one of the most successful vegtable operations in Loundon County:

Thanks for the many inquiries.

 We now have sales or sales arrangements with several of you. .

 We are away April 8-18 (that’s what you get to do when selling things off).

 Pick-up and settlement can begin at the farm April 19 on.

 When we get back we will send out a new list, having

1. put prices on a few things that were asked about that we hadn’t priced yet
2. added a few items
3. consolidated to show everything then still available

 Although it’s now quite altered, I re-attach the original list pending the mid-April revision.

I've seen some of the stuff and spoken to Chip and Susan about it; the prices seem quite fair to me.
