Smart Phone Card Swipe Options

For those of you farmers that do direct sales and have considered getting one of the little plug-ins that lets you accept Credit and Debit cards wirelessly, here is the best comparative article I have seen on the different providers. Note also the ads in the right coloumn for some other providers. Also, PayPal is about to release its own system, and it has some good features, as long as you like PayPal. Keep in mind these mostly only work on Apple and Android phones.

Jefferson County Farmers Markets

  • The Charles Town Farmers Market is open 8 AM to 12 Noon on Saturdays from April to October in the 100 block of South Samuel Street in Charles Town. This on the south side of East Washington Street (WV Rt 51 / US Rt 340-B).
  • The Bardane Farmers Market is open on Wednesdays 4 PM to 7 PM from April to October and is located in The Black Dog Coffee Company parking lot at the Bardane / Wiltshire Rd exit off WV Route 9 between Charles Town and Kearneysville (just west of the WV DMV office).
  • The Bolivar Heights Farmers Market is open Mondays 4 PM to 7 PM from May to December. It is located in front of the Jefferson County Tourist Center at the intersection of Washington Street and US 340, across from the entrance to Harpers Ferry National Park and the KOA campground.
  • Morgans Grove Market is open Saturdays 9 AM to 1 PM and is located adjacent to Morgans Grove Park on Kearneysville Pike, south of Shepherdstown.
  • The Shepherdstown Farmers Market is open 9 AM to 1 PM on Sundays from April to December on King Street behind the library in downtown Shepherdstown.
