Well, we have caught up on the garden work (or let's just say we've had enough of this heat!) so now son Sam and I are hunkered down in the office working on an overhaul of Garden Smarts. When it returns (I hope as soon as the end of August) it will have its own domain and we will post a link to the new address right here. Please do check it out, as we are putting a lot of work in to it...and it will combine the best of all five of my books, plus twenty years of garden photography, including a world class vegetable variety photo gallery from the Cook's Garden trial gardens in Burlington.

Adventures in the Seed Trade
- This is a series of pictures taken mostly in 1999 and 2000 during trips to visit the seed breeders, producers and testers who provided the seed for my catalog, The Cook's Garden, which I founded in 1983 and left in 2003 after twenty years. Many of these locations are not open to the general public and so I have done my best to give you some background on each of them to put them in context.
