Well I guess it is not such a slow spring after all (I have been miserable here in this stone house, too cheap the pay the oil company). I noticed about two days ago that the forsythia bushes along Shepherd Grade are just starting to bloom, and remembered that I had taken pictures of them last spring as well. Here are the two sets of pictures side by side, taken March 31, 2008 and March 20, 2009.
From the looks of it, they pruned them in the fall (Whoops!) instead of immediately after blooming, and so they lost a lot of that high flying color that makes forsythias so attractive.
